Four players made the most of their top ten finish at the 2018 SMBC Singapore Open by securing a spot for The Open championship to be held at Carnoustie from July 15-22, 2018.
Thai duo Jazz Janewattananond and Danthai Boonma, who finished tied for fourth, sixth-place Sean Crocker of the USA and Australian Lucas Herbert all secured places as part of The Open Qualifying Series. Herbert, who finished tied for eighth with Miguel Tabuena, Berry Henson and Gavin Green, secured his spot by virtue of his higher world ranking. Green, as Asian Tour Order of Merit winner, has already been allocated a start for Carnoustie.
The four will be making their way to one of the world’s toughest courses for the 147th running of world’s oldest golf championship. Carnoustie, with its thick rough and gusting winds, is the longest and one of the narrowest of all The Open courses and will provide a test to any golfer worthy of taking it on.
